A false-alarm Ebola case in Hollywood on Monday sent more than 30 members of the Los Angeles Fire Department to the 5900 block of Barton Avenue.
Firefighters were called at 9:10 p.m. to treat an female patient. After learning she just returned from a trip to Africa and the description of her illness, firefighters took special precautions due to protocol, according to LAFD spokesman Erik Scott. After further assessment, firefighters determined the individual had a serious illness but that it was not Ebola. Paramedics transported her to a hospital. Scott did not have further information on the patient or her condition.
