The Beverly Hills/Greater Los Angeles Association of REALTORS (BH/GLAAR) Charitable Foundation recently prepared and served meals to homeless veterans. The foundation also hosted a class to help homeless veterans transition into stable housing through People Assisting The Homeless (PATH), and donated $1,000 to the organization.
“This year’s focus is on outreach to homeless and veterans communities. The event fits perfectly with our goals,” foundation president Stan Smith said.
Housing affordability, availability and combatting homelessness have been the focuses for BH/GLAAR. Working closely with the mayor’s office and community organizations to address homelessness, BHGLAAR has been at the forefront of finding community based solutions to needs in Los Angeles.
“The work being done by the charitable foundation is directly intertwined with our broader local advocacy efforts,” said BH/GLAAR government affairs director James Ward Litz. “We are doing all we can to end homelessness in Los Angeles, and veterans are certainly deserving of this financial support. We look forward to continuing our efforts to eliminate homelessness in Los Angeles through advocacy and charitable acts. Together, we can make the systemic changes we seek to make our society better for all.”
