The Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) presents its 22nd annual juried exhibition running Friday, May 13 through Friday, June 3.
The show includes works by four artists selected by Dave Bailey, a former professor at the Art Center College of Design and Max Presneill, director and head curator of the Torrance Art Museum. The artists include Gina Coccaro, Woomin Kim, Connie D.K. Lane and Soe Yu New. Works include Coccaro’s “Intergalactic” (pictured).
“The main goal of the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles is to introduce and share our culture with other communities, so that we can work together through great programs and events,” said KCCLA director Nak Jung Kim. “This exhibition is representative of such cultural exchange. Through this, we are trying to give them an amazing opportunity to engage with great artists in our competition, and to respect and share their ideas and culture.”
An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m. in KCCLA’s Second Floor Art Gallery. Prize winners will be announced at the reception. KCCLA is located at 5505 Wilshire Blvd. For information, call (323)936-3014, or visit www.kccla.org.
