Let them eat cake
The Depressed Cake Shop has raised over $100,000 for charities around the world by working with local bakers who donate and sell baked goods. The next pop-up in L.A. will be held on Friday, May 6 at a pop-up shop at Streetcraft LA, and will raise funding for mental health programs. The deliciously fashionable one-time event will feature a photo gallery by the Broken Light Collective and curated by Danielle Hark. Original artwork will be on display and sold at the event. Visitors can purchase jewelry, mugs, a limited edition T-shirt by Wear Your Label. Enjoy baked goods by local artisans including the “gray cakes,” a visual metaphor for the “cloud” that can descend during an episode of depression. Funds raised will go to St. Joseph Center’s Mental Health Initiatives in Venice.
