The Israeli-American Council (IAC) is holding its eighth annual Los Angeles Gala on Sunday, March 13 from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Television personality and comedian Howie Mandel will be master of ceremonies. David D’Or, one of Israel’s most acclaimed singers, composers and songwriters, and flamenco guitarist Chico Castillo will perform.
“The IAC is the beating heart of the Israeli-American community in Los Angeles and across the country,” Mandel. “I look forward to celebrating the organization’s rapid growth and its significant contributions to the community.”
More than 1,000 people are expected at the event, including elected officials and community leaders. The evening will showcase the IAC’s work in Los Angeles and throughout the United States.
The IAC is the fastest-growing Jewish organization in the country, with regional councils in nine cities. Last month, IAC Los Angeles opened the IAC Shepher Community Center in the San Fernando Valley, the first Israeli-American community center in the country.
The gala will honor Los Angeles civic leader Shawn Evenhaim, CEO and founder of California Home Builders, who is also co-founder of the IAC. Evenhaim had a key role in the organization’s expansion throughout the country as its National Chairman from 2011-2015.
“It’s the perfect time to honor Shawn, whose far-reaching vision, boundless passion and tireless work has been a driving force behind the IAC’s expansion from a local organization into a nationwide movement,” said Miri Shepher, regional council chairwoman for IAC Los Angeles.
