On Saturday, March 12, Assemblyman Richard Bloom and California Board of Equalization Chair Jerome Horton to host a free tax-filing assistance event to help low- and moderate-income individuals and families prepare 2015 state and federal income tax returns.

Certified tax preparers will provide volunteer income tax preparation assistance.

In addition, the volunteer tax preparers will see who qualifies for up to $6,242 in Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and up to $2,653 in the new State Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

The event starts at 10 a.m. at Santa Monica College at 1510 Pico Boulevard, Room 103

(next to Fosters Freeze) in Santa Monica.
