It has a capacity of 18,000 and has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since its official opening in 1922.
During the 2015 season, the Hollywood Bowl concert series included performances by Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Journey, Ed Sheeran, Smokey Robinson, Harry Connick Jr., Yuja Wang, Ziggy Marley, Death Cab for Cutie and many more.
“It’s an honor for the Hollywood Bowl to be recognized by Pollstar as the best major outdoor concert venue for the 12th consecutive year,” said Gail Samuel, executive director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. “We love this wonderful venue, and we are always thrilled to have confirmation that our industry colleagues love it too. So much goes into a Bowl season, and with our presenting partners and the ongoing support of the County of Los Angeles, we look forward to another exciting summer season in 2016.”
The Pollstar Concert Industry Awards honor the best of the concert industry for their accomplishments.
Nominees were selected by a cross section of international music business professionals, and winners were determined by the international readership of Pollstar.
The Hollywood Bowl also announced the line-up for its 96th season.
