Terrine will host specially curated dinners on Sunday, Jan. 17 with executive chef/partner Kris Morningstar and award-winning head bartender Ryan Wainwright. In honor of the historic January 2015 repeal of California’s foie gras ban, Morningstar will prepare a dynamic five-course dinner for $95 per person with foie gras poached, baked in puff pastry and whipped into cream. The regular menu with à la carte selections will also be available. Wine director and managing partner François Renaud will offer pairing suggestions suited to each foie gras course and will pour a five-glass flight for an additional $35. Ditch Your New Year’s Resolutions Day
Plan Check Kitchen + Bar chef/partner Ernesto Uchimura serves dishes prepared with indulgent condiments such as “kim-cheese,” pastrami bits, smoked milk gravy and sunny fried eggs. On National Ditch Your New Year’s Resolutions Day on Jan. 17, stop struggling to go vegan and eat fewer carbs, and bite into a K-BBQ Burger; pastrami nosh made with double-smoked pastrami, melted Swiss cheese, kimchi mustard, pickles and a sunny-side up fried egg; and smoky fried chicken with yam preserves and spicy pickled okra. Order a side of beef tallow French fries with pastrami bits, pastrami gravy, melted Swiss cheese and chopped pickles. The luxury West Hollywood hot spot Petrossian Restaurant and Boutique has welcomed Alex Ageneau as its new executive chef. During dineL.A. Restaurant Week, Ageneau will prepare a two-course lunch menu for $25 per person, as well as a $49 three-course dinner. Ageneau developed his French/Californian style of cooking at Aestus, The Royce and Patina before coming to Petrossian. The dineLA menu options include sunchoke and leek velouté, and buckwheat blinis with pike roe, trout roe, salmon roe and crème fraiche. Entrées include red sea bream, seared duck breast and vegetarian porcini mushroom risotto. Wine pairings are offered for an additional charge.
