A vehicle struck three pedestrians early Wednesday, killing one and critically injuring the other two near Beverly Boulevard and Formosa Avenue.

Officer Robert Kim, of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division said the collision occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. An unidentified driver was traveling eastbound on Beverly Boulevard and struck at least two parked vehicles before striking the pedestrians. Kim said the investigation was ongoing Wednesday morning, and it is uncertain why the driver crashed or whether alcohol or drugs were involved. Paramedics took the two injured individuals to a hospital for treatment. The name of the decedent was not released pending notification of next of kin.
Beverly Boulevard remained closed at Formosa Avenue for hours Wednesday morning while police investigated the collision. Anyone with information is urged to contact West Traffic Division investigators at (213)473-0234.
