Edward Cella Art and Architecture announced the opening of “New Works,” a two-person exhibition running Jan. 30-March 5.
“New Works” features hand-formed and assembled terra cotta and steel sculptures by David Hicks and abstract paintings by Chris Trueman.
Hicks, who has a long-time fascination with the cyclical forces found in nature and agriculture, works primarily with terra cotta.
In his sculptures, the artist creates compositions that echo the growth and decay of organic matter.
Trueman paints in acrylic and spray paint on Yupo paper mounted to a board to explore surface and space.
Hicks received a Masters of Fine Arts degree from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, and Trueman received his Masters of Fine Arts Degree in painting from Claremont Graduate University, California.
Edward Cella Art and Architecture is located at 2754 S. La Cienega Blvd. For information, visit www.edwardcella.com.
