A collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Spaulding Avenue on Jan. 3 caused one of the vehicles to jump the curb and shear a fire hydrant. No injuries were reported in the collision, which occurred at 3:45 p.m. and sent water shooting into the air, said Officer Robert Kim, with the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division. The incident is under investigation and the exact cause was not available. Kim said neither driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and no citations were issued.
