The city of Los Angeles unveiled the first phase of renovations to the John Ferraro Fields soccer complex in Griffith Park on Oct. 31. The fields were renovated with synthetic turf and will be used by youth soccer organizations. The site is located just north of the intersection of the 135 and 5 freeways. The second phase of the two-part restoration will include three regulation fields for adults.
Councilman David Ryu (center), 4th District, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mike Shull, general manager of the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, and former U.S. national soccer team member Cobi Jones.
The renovations were completed in partnership between the department of recreation and parks, the Los Angeles Parks Foundation and the LA84 Foundation.
