The Fillmore & Western Railway is celebrating fall with scenic and ghoulish train rides. The railway’s locomotives and railcars will be decorated with “tender ghoulish care” to reflect the season. Ghosts, witches, spiders and faux severed heads will adorn the dining cars in October to celebrate the ghostly fun.

One of the Fillmore & Western Railway’s most popular train rides of the year, The Pumpkinliner, will run every weekend in October. The train departs on Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., and transport guests to a private pumpkin patch. Families can pick a perfect jack-o-lantern, and enjoy a jolly jumper, face painting, mazes and hay rides. Arts and craft booths, a carousel, barbecue and food are also available.

An evening train ride to the Pumpkin Patch is also offered aboard the Haunted Hayride Family Dinner Train, which runs on Saturdays, Oct. 17, 24 and 31., departing at 7 p.m. Dinner will be served, and riders can search for haunting characters as the train creeps past groves. On Oct. 17, 24, 25 and 31, Fillmore & Western Railway is offering its Zombie Hunter train rides, in which passengers embark on a two-hour haunted train ride through battlegrounds of a zombie apocalypse. Passengers will be armed with paintball guns loaded with zombie flesh eating toxic paintballs, and will shoot targets and help repel the attacking zombie hoards.
