The burglary occurred on Aug. 2 at approximately 3:37 a.m. Police released surveillance camera footage of the suspects on Sept. 18 after exhausting all leads. Police are also looking for a woman who entered the building a short time before the suspects and may have let them in the building or may be involved in the theft.
The skateboards were manufactured by the Chocolate Skateboard Company and are each valued at approximately $1,000. The building manager notified police about the theft.
“They weren’t screwed to the wall, and they just pulled them off,” said Det. D. Nolan, with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Division Burglary Unit. “[The woman] comes in before they do and leaves shortly afterward. We would like to speak to her.”
Nolan said the suspects likely stole the skateboards to sell them, and he has been searching on eBay and Craigslist for ads that may lead to the suspects. The detective said he has also been in contact with merchants in the area who sell skateboards, but has reached a dead end in the investigation.
“It’s likely that they at least sold a few,” Nolan said. “We don’t have any other incidents of skateboard thefts, so it’s kind of unusual.”
The suspects are described as Caucasian or Hispanic men in their early 20s. One suspect had a mohawk, while the other wore a camouflaged hat.

Detectives with the Wilshire Division are also searching for four suspects wanted for a robbery in the 5400 block of West Pico Boulevard that occurred on July 30.
At approximately 3 p.m., the four suspects entered a home improvement store at the location and removed merchandise from shelves, placed the items in a shopping cart, and then pushed the cart out of the store without paying for the merchandise.
A loss prevention officer at the store approached one of the suspects in the parking garage, and the suspect pepper sprayed the officer. A second suspect also ran toward the loss prevention officer and pulled out a knife. The suspects then entered a newer model red Honda Civic in which the other suspects were waiting, and drove away.
Two of the suspects are described as African American males. One was approximately 12-15 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 120 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a white tank top shirt, gray pants and red shoes.
The second male suspect is approximately 21 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a white shirt and gray pants.
The other two suspects are described as African American women. One was 20-25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 215 pounds. Investigators believe she may be pregnant, and has a tattoo on her right leg. The other female suspect is 35-40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and approximately 215 pounds. She was wearing an orange dress.
