More Than A Cone (MTAC), a non-profit dedicated to helping animals in need, is hosting its second annual fundraising event on Sept. 11 at the Autry Museum. The event is a culmination of a year-round fundraising and awareness campaign focused on animal adoption, welfare and recovery. The night will feature live music and entertainment, a cone-fashion runway show, carnival games, a cone-art exhibition and more.
Hosted by actress Judy Greer, the art campaign calls on leading artists to transform the “cone of shame.” Their goal is to change attitudes about the cone, and in turn raise awareness about pet adoption, wellness and recovery.
Using the cone as a blank canvas has inspired MTAC artists from around the world. Their cone-art is auctioned online, and revenue generated goes directly to MTAC’s local and national partnered animal charity organizations. This year’s artists include Chet Czar, Carlos Torres, Craww and many more.
Proceeds from More Than A Cone’s 2015 fundraising efforts will benefit Best Friends Animal Society, The Shelter Project, Angel City Pit Bulls and Kitten Rescue of Los Angeles.
The Autry Museum is located at 4700 Western Heritage Way. For more information and tickets, visit www.morethanacone.com.
