TARFEST, the arts and culture event in the Miracle Mile produced by LAUNCH LA, will bring art and music to Hancock Park at the La Brea Tar Pits on Sept. 26 from 1-8 p.m.

The event kicked off on Wednesday at the Miracle Mile Chamber luncheon saluting TARFEST, held at the BP Grand Entrance at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

“The chamber is so happy we were able to participate and support TARFEST in its very earliest years, and we’re so happy that relationship has continued to grow and have such positive results,” said Steve Kramer, president of the Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce, center above. Los Angeles County Supervisor Shelia Kuehl present Kramer and TARFEST founder James Panazzo with a proclamation and praised them for their efforts.

Dozens of artists, performers and cultural innovators will come together to showcase their talents and ideas. Artists Greg “Craola” Simkins, Johnny “KMNDZ” Rodriguez and Joseph Lee will be painting live. Family-friendly activities will be held. Food trucks, a wine bar and Lagunitas Biergarten will be serving food and drink. Live music will be performed throughout the day by Salt Petal, Babes, Jessica Childress, The Shelters and Gavin Turek.
