The Pathways to Success Regional Hiring Event will be held on Friday, Aug. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Village @ Indian Hill, 1444 E. Holt Ave. in Pomona.
The hiring event is being held through a partnership between State Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino), Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, the workforce development boards of Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, Community and Senior Services, America’s Job Center of California and Goodwill Southern California.
Job seekers at the event will participate in on-site interviews, be pre-screened to match specific employment criteria identified by partnering employers, and some may be offered jobs.
“We will bring together employers from throughout the greater Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County regions ready to hire qualified job seekers,” Leyva said. “I am excited about this collaboration and I look forward in continuing to provide resources to the area.”
“As our economy continues to recover, I am pleased that so many key partners have come together to offer Los Angeles County residents opportunities to interview for jobs,” Solis added. “Qualified job seekers need assistance finding jobs right now.”
More than 20 employers, including Williams-Sonoma, Macy’s, Loomis, Auto Zone, Robertson’s Ready Mix, Cemex, Pomona Valley Hospital, Sprint, Pomona Unified School District, Cal Micro Recycling and People’s Care, will participate in the hiring event.
Preparatory workshops will be held in advance of the event offering tips on resume development, interview skills, dressing for success and completing online job applications. Space is limited and pre-registration is required for the hiring event at www.GoodwillSoCal.org/Get-Hired. To register for pre-screening workshops, call (909)242-7999.
