Underground utility relocation work is continuing near Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in preparation for construction of the Purple Line subway extension project. This week, crews are relocating gas lines near the intersection in advance of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) subway project. Mindy Lake, a senior construction relations officer for Metro, said crews will be moving west along Wilshire Boulevard. No exact timeline is available for completion of the utility relocation work, which Lake said will likely continue until the start of subway tunneling.
