Thousands of people are expected to participate in National Night Out Against Crime, which will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4 in communities throughout the Los Angeles area.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Division, the Olympic Park Neighborhood Council and Los Angeles High School will observe National Night Out Against Crime at an event on Aug. 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. on the school’s campus, 4650 W. Olympic Blvd.

Karaoke, a photo booth, carnival games, face painting, a bounce house, food stations, sponsor booths, a DJ, video games and more will be held. Admission is free and the public is invited. For information, call Curtis Clark at (213)249-1630, or email curtis.clark@lausd.net.

West Hollywood residents are expected to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime at free block parties and special events on Aug. 4 from 4 to 10 p.m. Approximately one dozen events will be held in West Hollywood.

As part of West Hollywood’s National Night Out events, a free screening of “Big Hero 6” will be held on Aug. 4 at 8 p.m. at Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. Community members are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy the movie under the stars.

Additionally, actress, comedian and singer Charo will be participating at the Palm/Larrabee Neighborhood Alliance block party, and Bollywood dancers will perform at a National Night Out observance at Fountain Day School. For a complete list of events, times and locations, visit www.weho.org/nno.
