The “Revolutions 2: The Art of Music” exhibition will run through Aug. 2, Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Forest Lawn in Glendale.

The Forest Lawn Museum and a combination of legendary, award-winning artists are organizing the exhibition — the museum’s largest exhibition to date.

“Revolutions 2: The Art of Music” brings together art and music fans while spotlighting the visually innovative ideas born in the West Coast that continue to influence culture around world. This exhibition features the biggest artists and designers behind some of the most significant album covers, posters, illustrations and photographs that personified the music industry.

Renowned in the music, arts and photography world, these visual artists have had some of the greatest influence on the evolution of graphic art aligned with the world’s best musicians. From Black Sabbath’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” album art to The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s iconic Fillmore East poster to illustrations for Rolling Stone magazine, more than 35 artists are represented in more than 175 artworks loaned for this exhibition.

“Revolutions 2: Art of Music” is organized and curated by Forest Lawn Museum director Joan P. Adan, who has been presenting art work for 10 years at the Forest Lawn Museum.

“When these covers, posters, packaging, logos and magazine covers were made, they added to the musical listening experience and made for long-lasting impressions, independent even from the art they represented. This exhibition is an acknowledgement and appreciation of that era and its art form,” Adan said.
