A retired Los Angeles Police Department detective was sentenced recently for possessing hundreds of images of child or youth pornography, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has announced.
The defendant, Charles Daniel Henderson, 69, was placed on probation for five years, ordered to register as a sex offender for life, undergo one year of sex offender counseling and perform 30 days of community service.
Last month, Henderson pleaded no contest to one count of possession of child pornography. Deputy District Attorney Samer Hathout, of the district attorney’s office’s high tech crime division, said more than 600 images of child or youth pornography were found during a search of Henderson’s home in October.
Henderson served with the LAPD for 20 years, according to the Hathout.
