The First-In Fire Foundation held a benefit on May 30 titled “On Fire: A Wild, Wild West Firehouse Barbeque” at the Original Farmers Market, corner of 3rd and Fairfax.

Approximately 150 people attended the western-themed benefit for the First-In Fire Foundation, which connects citizens to local fire stations, and supports citywide emergency preparedness and security.

Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Mark Curry, of Fire Station 29, fired up the grill and served firefighters from his station and Fire Station 61, as well as officers from the LAPD’s Wilshire Division, members of the U.S. Army’s 26th Cavalry and local “cowboys.”

Nineteen members of the LAPD and LAFD cadet corps assisted at the event.
