Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-Calif.) recently held a community meeting attended by more than 50 people at the Memorial Branch Library on Olympic Boulevard. The congresswoman is visiting communities throughout the 37th Congressional District as part of her “Congressional Conversations” series.

“I enjoyed hearing from Mid-City residents about the issues that mean the most to them,” Bass said. “These meetings provide me an opportunity to hear firsthand from the diverse voices that make up the district that I represent so that I can bring their concerns, opinions and ideas back to the Capitol.”

The meeting offered constituents an opportunity to speak directly with Bass and share their ideas about issues being debated in Congress. The congresswoman discussed affordable housing, healthcare, education, immigration reform, campaign finance reform and the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Bass next plans to host “Congressional Conversations” in the Palms/Mar Vista, Leimert Park, and Manchester Square neighborhoods, at dates to be scheduled.
