West Hollywood announced its annual call for applications for its youth scholarship program.

The program is open to all city residents who are graduating from high school or receiving their GED and who plan to pursue post-secondary education. The West Hollywood Youth Scholarship Program was established in 2007 to encourage and support students to pursue education beyond high school.

The program requires that recipients perform at least 150 hours of community service prior to receiving scholarship funds. The scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,500 each and may be used for any expenses incurred in the pursuit of post-secondary education (including college or accredited trade/vocational school).

The program is sponsored by the city, but scholarship funds come entirely from individual and community donations.
