A motorcycle officer with the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division was injured on April 1 after being involved in a collision with a motorist on Pico Boulevard.

The unidentified officer is a 15-year veteran of the department. He was taken by paramedics to a hospital, treated and later released.

The collision occurred at approximately 9 a.m. near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Tremaine Avenue. The other motorist involved was driving a Toyota Prius, and was on the wrong side of the road when the collision occurred, according to an investigator with the West Traffic Division.

The vehicle may have been turning from, or onto, Tremaine Avenue.The incident remains under investigation, and no citations were issued pending the outcome of the investigation, Ross added.
