Police are searching for an African American man in his mid-20s who is a suspect in a fatal stabbing that occurred on April 22 in Hollywood.

Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Liliana Preciado said the stabbing was reported by witnesses at approximately 8:40 a.m. in a parking lot in the 1700 block of Las Palmas Avenue, north of Hollywood Boulevard. She said the suspect and the victim may have known each other, and the stabbing occurred following an altercation.

“The victim was standing next to his vehicle, and the suspect was inside the vehicle when he stabbed the victim,” Preciado said. “The victim later died from his injuries.”

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect drive away in a Ford F-150 pick-up with North Carolina license plates. The vehicle was found later in the day abandoned near an apartment building on Camrose Drive, off Highland Avenue near the Hollywood Bowl.
