The Tower Cancer Research Foundation in Beverly Hills is launching its free “Heart to Heart” seminar program on Monday, March 30 for people caring for a loved one with cancer.
Developed by a licensed clinical psychologist who was the primary caregiver for his cancer-stricken wife, the program is a six-week interactive seminar series — not a support group — that will help caregivers develop tools to better understand and cope with caring for an individual with cancer. The seminars will address fears and triumphs, losses and responsibilities, opportunities and gifts, as well as the journey toward a sense of purpose.
Participants will learn skills and strategies for freeing themselves from guilt and expectations, as well a self-care tools, which are critically important to sustaining one’s energy as a caregiver. The program includes six weekly, two-hour sessions to be held on Mondays from 5 to 7 p.m. in Beverly Hills. The program will be offered three times throughout the year. For registration, call (424)230-7154, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
