Just as President Obama arrived to appear on the Jimmy Kimmel Show on March 12, numerous Hollywood personalities ignored barricades and yellow tape to attend the celebration of the life and work of Hollywood actor, Hugh O’Brian, at the Hollywood Museum. O’Brian is  best known for his role as “Wyatt Earp” in the 1950s TV series “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.”

Some of the items on display were the original guns, hostler, hat, boots and suit worn by O’Brian.

Additionally, O’Brian debuted his memoirs, “Hugh O’Brian: Or What’s Left Of Him” with forewords by Debbie Reynolds & Hugh Hefner. As his 90th birthday nears in April, O’Brian is one of the few remaining classic Western stars. The book features stories of an era in entertainment that there soon will be too few to share in first person. The book chronicles many never-before published stories about Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Stompanato, the Marine Corps, living at the House of Seven Garbos and meeting Albert Schweitzer.

Some of the guests in attendance at the Hollywood Museum were Doris Roberts, Ilene Graff, Peter Ford, Kate Linder, Carolyn Hennesy, Jimmy Hawkins, Dawn Wells, Peter Ford (Son of Glen Ford), George Chakiris, Ambassador Glen Holden, Romi Dames, Jack Betts, Judy Tenuta, Erin Murphy and Sue Lloyd (Grand daughter of Harold Lloyd).

The Hollywood Museum, located at 1660 N. Highland Ave, is also home to Max Factor’s world-famous makeup rooms where Marilyn Monroe became a blonde and Lucille Ball first donned her signature red hair.
