The American Red Cross (ARC) is bringing their Community Ambassador Program to Council District 4.
The Red Cross is looking for community members interested in being a representative for the Red Cross to their community.
The Community Ambassador is a volunteer leadership role with the ARC Los Angeles Region.
Community Ambassadors are tasked with empowering their community to be self-reliant and resilient in the face of disasters.
The role of a Community Ambassador is to serve as a liaison between leaders in the community and the ARC Los Angeles Region by representing the ARC Los Angeles Region as a high-level ambassador, ensuring that the city/community representatives (mayors, local government, etc.) are connected to ARC, connecting your community to ARC resources to achieve solutions for preparedness.
Responsibilities of a Community Ambassador include advocating for local preparedness, planning and activities that will lead communities toward readiness consistent with ARC’s PrepareSoCal Campaign.
The PrepareSoCal Campaign includes educating the community about preparedness, identifying opportunities for ARC and the community to collaborate, reporting to ARC on important government news and opportunities and representing the ARC Los Angeles Region at events and with organizations.
There is no specific time requirement to serve as a Community Ambassador.
However, it is the region’s desire that Community Ambassadors serve in this capacity for at least three years.
Interested community members should contact Morgan Moore, Community Relationship Coordinator, directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at (310)903-7615.
