Phil Shuman, FOX Channel 11 reporter, will moderate a candidate forum featuring 13 of the candidates running for District 4 of Los Angeles City Council on Sunday.
The forum will be hosted by the Mid City West Community Council (MCWCC) and Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council (GWNC) and it will take place on from 11 to 1 p.m. at John Burroughs Middle School, 600 S. McCadden Place.
Questions solicited from local residents and neighborhood associations will cover city finances, transportation, historic preservation of neighborhoods, development, affordable housing and sustainability.
“The Wilshire Corridor has always been the geographical center of the city and now we find ourselves at the center of a lot of issues facing the city as a whole,” said Scott Epstein, chair of the MCWCC. “With the new subway station at Wilshire and La Brea, transportation and development are issues that need input from the whole community.”
“The debate will be a great way for local residents to meet the candidates, and for candidates to get to know our neighborhood and what matters to our residents,” added Owen Smith, president of the GWNC.
