Councilman Tom LaBonge, 4th District, and authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Bureau Homicide Division are announcing a reward today for anyone with information leading to the arrests of the suspect or suspects responsible for the murder of 86-year-old Windsor Square resident Antonia Maria Yager on Dec. 22.
Yager was found stabbed to death in her home in the 100 block of North Beachwood Drive after a caretaker discovered her body. Firefighters arrived and notified the police.
She was the wife of former Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Thomas C. Yager, who died in November 2008 at the age of 90. Yager was living alone at the time of her death.
Detectives are still investigating the murder and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
The reward announcement, including the amount, will be made at a press conference on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 2:30 p.m. at the Wilshire Community Police Station at 4861 W. Venice Blvd. LAPD Commander Beatrice Girmala of Operations West Bureau, LAPD Wilshire Area Capt. Howard Leslie, West Bureau homicide detectives and friends of Yager will be present.
