Investigators have preliminarily determined that a collision on Feb. 21 in Hollywood that resulted in the death of actor Ben Woolf was an accident.
Woolf, who was known for his role as the character Meep in “American Horror Story”, was struck in the head by the side mirror of a passing vehicle near Hollywood Boulevard and Gramercy Place. The collision occurred at approximately 9 p.m., and Woolf was reportedly jaywalking.
“The driver remained at the scene and was not arrested or charged,” Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Sara Faden said.
Woolf, 34, was 4-feet-4-inches tall. He was taken by paramedics to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he died on Feb. 23 from injuries sustained in the collision. Faden added that detectives from the LAPD’s West Traffic Division have not finalized their investigation, but there is no information pointing to anything other than the collision being an accident.
“There is no crime involved, it was not a hit and run,” Faden added. “It was just a horrible, horrible accident.”
