Return of Foie Gras
Adam Fleischman, of Advantage Restaurant Partners, and Chop Daddy’s have created the “Foie Daddy” sandwich, made with seared foie gras, Chop Daddy’s special thinly-sliced, 12-hour smoked brisket and served on a buttered brioche roll for $20. West Hollywood’s French brasserie, L’Assiette Steak Frites, is offering pescetarian and vegetarian diners, as well as new lunch options. Molecular mixologist Rob Floyd is hosting his famous Cocktail Theatre on Friday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. at Sonoma Wine Garden. Flautas
Celebrated chefs Jaime Martin Del Campo and Ramiro Arvizu have debuted Flautas, their fast and casual ode to the traditional western Mexican dish by the same name. Located in the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza food court, adjacent to the full-service dining restaurant Mexicano, Flautas offers guests a quick bite before shopping or movies. The rolled tacos are fried crisp and served hot. Flaming Saddles Saloon
With the success of New York City Hell’s Kitchen, co-owners Jacqui Squatriglia and Chris Barnes are opening West Hollywood’s first country and western-themed saloon on Wednesday, Jan. 28. West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico will present a proclamation to the co-owners. A portion of the grand opening’s proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center and Ronnie Kroell’s Friend Movement. Platinum-selling country star Billy Gilman, who recently came out as gay, will perform. Full bar service is available, and dancing bartenders will perform live choreographed routines.
