The National Council of Jewish Women/Los Angeles (NCJW/LA) presents a program titled “Stories from the Frontline: Standing Together for Reproductive Rights, Health and Justice” on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the NCJW/LA Council House.
Celebrity guests such as Amy Brenneman, L. Scott Caldwell, Michael Cory Davis, Damon Gupton and Elizabeth Triplett will present readings of original stories from the frontline of the struggle to access abortion care and other reproductive health services. The stories from women in California and across the nation are a testament to what they experienced before the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade.
Audience members will hear about what it currently means to survive as clinics, hospitals and doctor’s offices providing services for women in the face of being forced to shut down nationwide.
Lenzi Sheible, founder of Fund Texas Choice, will also appear and debut an original piece chronicling her work to arrange travel for women to clinics.
Other special guest speakers slated for the program include State Sen. Holly Mitchell, and Joyce Schorr, founder of the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project.
The NCJW/LA Council House is located at 543 N. Fairfax Ave.
