Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division are seeking help in indentifying a suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Jan. 18.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. in the 3400 block of South Broadway Street. The victim was crossing Broadway Street when he was struck by what witnesses described as a black 2000 Chevrolet Camaro. The driver of the Camaro stopped momentarily to check on the victim, and was then observed driving away from the scene northbound on Broadway Street to Jefferson Boulevard. The driver was described as an African American man in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 220 pounds.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
