Early Metro Purple Line Construction will affect Wilshire Boulevard traffic during the next six weeks, officials said.
Starting today, there will be work taking place on Wilshire Boulevard between La Cienega and San Vicente boulevards for about six weeks.
The work involves utility relocation efforts, the first step in preparation for major work to come. Work will include pot-holing, saw-cutting, excavation and backfill. It will take place on the sidewalk and in the street between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Officials said there were community concerns from the city of Beverly Hills, so the work was moved to daytime hours. During the work, there will still be at least two lanes open eastbound and westbound. The scheduled finish is mid-January 2015. Call (213)922-6934 for questions or concerns.
