Hollywood legend Gena Rowlands put her hands — and her heels — into the cement outside the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX Friday morning to honor a long career on the silver screen.

Teaming with her husband, writer and director John Cassavetes, whom she married in 1954, Rowlands starred in productions including “Staccato”, “A Child Is Waiting”, “Faces”, “Gloria”, “Love Streams”, “Minnie and Moskowitz”, “She’s So Lovely” and “A Woman Under the Influence”.

In more recent years she has appeared in “Hope Floats”, “Paulie” and in the HBO movie “Hysterical Blindness”. Over the course of her career she has garnered two Oscar, six Golden Globe, six Emmy and two SAG nominations. She has won three Emmys, one Day Time Emmy and two Golden Globes.

Rowlands became the 278th hand print/foot print honoree in the last 87 years.

Coming soon, she will be starring in the film “Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks”. Her son, director Nick Cassavetes, was on hand to introduce her to the crowd.
