A male victim was stabbed and a second man was physically assaulted during an incident in West Hollywood on Dec. 8 that police said was likely a failed robbery attempt.
Two unidentified male victims were walking in the 800 block of Palm Ave. at approximately 1 a.m. on Dec. 8 when they were confronted by three Hispanic male suspects, said Lt. Mike White, with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station. A physical altercation ensued, and one of the suspects stabbed one of the victims. The suspects also physically assaulted the second victim, who sustained minor injuries, before all three assailants ran to a nearby vehicle and drove away.
White said a fourth unknown suspect was driving the vehicle.
The victim who was stabbed suffered a wound to his back and was taken by paramedics to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was treated and released. White described the victim’s injuries as “non-life threatening.”
The lieutenant said the attack appears to be an isolated incident, and no other similar crimes have occurred in the area. The suspects were described as Hispanic men, and no further description was available.
