Angelenos will pack the sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard this Sunday for the 83rd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade Benefitting Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
Parade festivities will begin at 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 30, along Hollywood Boulevard between Orange Street and Highland Avenue.
The parade stretches for approximately 3.2 miles. There will be two elevated stages at the grandstand area, which will be at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue (seats are sold out).
More than 1 million people are expected to attend to watch about 10,000 participants parade through Hollywood. Curbside seating along the route is free. The parade is presented by the Associated Television International, along with the city.
Musical performances will begin at 5 p.m. and then the parade will run from approximately 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Performers will include Earth, Wind & Fire, Estelle, HEART, Jesse McCartney, R5 and Rita Wilson.
Award-winning musician Stevie Wonder is the parade’s grand marshal. There will be 120 celebrities and VIPs, 12 musical performers, 17 bands, six equestrian entries, 13 giant balloons and 16 characters/novelties entries.
Hallmark Gold Crown will present $1.5 million in product donations and funds to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. The parade also will honor rock icon Ritchie Sambora, Councilman Tom LaBonge, 4th District and the 50th anniversary of television soap “Days of our Lives”.
Hollywood Boulevard will be closed from midnight Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday from Orange Street to Highland Avenue. Orange Street from Hollywood Boulevard South to the alley north of Hawthorne Avenue also will be closed for that duration of time.
The 101 Freeway exits northbound and southbound at Cahuega Boulevard and Highland Avenue will be closed from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The parade will be broadcast locally on KTLA at 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19. City officials said they encourage residents to take public transportation, as parking will be limited in the area.
