Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina will host a dedication ceremony for the new Grand Park playground on Saturday, Nov. 22, as part of the “Day of Play at the Park” celebration.
The new play area, which was constructed in four months, is designed to meet the needs of the more than 1,500 families who visit the park each week. The play area’s unique design, developed by the park’s architects, Rios Clementi Hale, features highly innovative elements that complement the park’s design and landscape, and give children their own special place.
The play area was funded by a grant from First 5 LA and Molina, through funds from Proposition A and the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District.
The celebration will be held at 2 p.m. at Grand Park, between North Broadway and Spring Street. For information, visit www.grandparkla.org.
