More than 400 students from over 60 schools recently participated in the Woodcraft Rangers NVISION soccer tournament. Woodcraft Rangers offers afterschool programs at schools throughout Los Angeles, and the soccer tournament kicked off the organization’s sporting events for the 2014/15 school year.
Sponsors such as the LA84 Foundation make it possible for Woodcraft Rangers’ NVISION programs to offer soccer tournaments and sporting events. Students practice daily at the school sites, and also participate in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) infused activities that engage the students and provide inspiration to grow.
“Nothing is better than to watch kids learning while they are having fun,”
Woodcraft Rangers CEO Chris Johnson said. “These competitions give the youth opportunities to showcase the skills and talents they have attained in our programs.”
