Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer recently announced that former UCLA student government commissioner Omar Arce, 22, has pleaded no-contest to seven counts of sexual battery, four counts of simple battery and one count of false imprisonment.
Sentencing was continued for one year, but the court remanded Arce into custody immediately on Oct. 8 to serve an anticipated 180-day sentence. He is also required to stay away from the UCLA campus, abide by protective orders covering the victims, abstain from alcohol, stay away from places where alcohol is sold, and pay restitution. If he fails to comply, he will be sentenced to one year in jail and be required to register as a sex offender.
The charges stemmed from allegations made by a female student earlier this year. A court ordered restitution hearing is scheduled for Dec. 23.
