Women Helping Women Community Counseling & Support Services (WHW), a program of National Council of Jewish Women, Los Angeles (NCJW/LA), is accepting applications for its fall 2014 Scholarship Program.
The scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,000 and are awarded to nursing students, teachers, single parents, film production students and women in mid-life. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 1, and 10 scholarships will be awarded in December.
The WHW scholarship program was created in 1987 to distribute funds to women and men who have made a commitment to higher education as a means of overcoming obstacles in their lives and achieving a better future. Scholarships are awarded to residents of the greater Los Angeles area.
Since its inception, the program has provided more than $342,000 in grants. Applications are evaluated based on their dedication to a chosen path and their financial need.
