The First-In Fire Foundation is holding its 3rd annual Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station 61 on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to noon at the fire station.

The event is co-sponsored by the foundation and the Miracle Mile Civic Coalition, in partnership with Los Angeles fire Department Fire Station 61. This year’s breakfast is being held to give thanks to the community, particularly the Windsor Square-Hancock Park Historical Society, which has raised approximately $14,000 for the station over the past two years. A newly re-landscaped firehouse patriotic garden featuring a fire hydrant,drought tolerant plants and dry stream bed will be unveiled.

Fire Station 61 firefighters, members of the Windsor Square-Hancock Park Historical Society and the First-In Fire Foundation collaborated with GreenTree Landscaping on the project, in which the existing memorial to victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks was renovated.

Members of the public are invited to the “pancakes and preparedness” event. A demonstration of the “jaws of life” will be held, and young guests can visit with “Wilshire the Fire Dog.” There will also be giveaways and more.
