The producers of “Wicked” have announced that six additional weeks of performances will be added for the production through Sunday, March 15 at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. Individual tickets for the new block of performances will go on sale to the general public on Sunday, Oct. 26. Performances begin on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
“Wicked” celebrated a record-breaking Los Angeles premiere in 2005, which was followed two years later by an extended engagement that ran for two years, becoming one of the longest-running Broadway musicals in L.A. history.
The musical, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, has received more than 50 awards.
Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One of the girls — born with emerald green skin — is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.
“Wicked” tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, and how the two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
Tickets start at $35. The Hollywood Pantages Theatre is located at 6233 Hollywood Blvd.
