Desserts at Gusto
Chef Vic Casanova, owner of Gusto, is serving some new after-dinner treats for guests with a sweet tooth. Andaz
The Andaz West Hollywood unveils an exhibit by rock ‘n’ roll photographer Rodney Bursiel tonight, Sept. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit, titled “Lone Star on the Sunset Strip”, is a series of photographs of legendary Texas-based musicians such as ZZ Top member Billy F. Gibbons and Lyle Lovett. Visitors can also learn about the inspiration for the series directly from the artist. The exhibit is located on the mezzanine level of Andaz West Hollywood. California Beer Festival
One of the largest beer festivals in California will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Beer lovers can sample ice cold craft brews and artisanal ciders, and enjoy live music from the Fire Department Band, Rey Fresco and The Bomb. Cab service is available for a $15 flat rate per cab to and from Eureka! Burger in downtown Claremont, or from the Rookery Alehouse in downtown Pomona. Malibu Pier
Executive chef Jason Fullilove is creating spectacular dishes at Malibu Pier restaurant and bar. Coolhaus gourmet ice cream has a cart at the pier next to the restaurant. Tam O’Shanter and Pasadena Pops

Filet and Lobster
All Fleming’s locations are offering a filet mignon and lobster special running through Sept. 30. Diners can enjoy an eight-ounce filet mignon and eight-ounce lobster tail with drawn butter, as well as a starter course and a choice of soup or salad, for $44.95. Start with pan-seared scallop over goat cheese polenta, followed by a choice of the new wedge salad or French onion soup baked with gruyere and parmesan cheeses. Pressed Juicery
Pressed Juicery is debuting their new book, “JUICE: Recipes For Juicing, Cleansing and Living Well”, with a launch party on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Brentwood Country Mart. Grimaldi’s Pizzeria
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria in El Segundo is partnering with the organization No Kid Hungry to fight child hunger in September. A $5 donation will help the nearly 16 million children who go hungry every year, and Grimaldi’s will give each customer who donates a gift card of equal value to be used on a future visit. Grimaldi’s is also celebrating “National Cheese Pizza Month”. Eureka! Tasting Kitchen
Located at Hawthorne Municipal Airport, the Eureka! Tasting Kitchen offers an all-American menu with a modern twist. Interesting salads include the grilled Caesar with charred romaine hearts and parmesan dressing, and the slow-roasted beet salad with toasted walnuts, apple, arugula, orange sections and watermelon pop rocks. The short rib ragu has stone-ground grits, shaved horseradish and fine herbs, and the breakfast burrito — which is served all day — is made with flat iron steak, potatoes, ranchero sauce, arugula salad and topped with an egg. Additionally, the bone marrow burger — which is made from 100 percent vegetarian fed, hormone and antibiotic free beef — is topped with bone marrow porcini butter, charbroiled onion, mustard aioli and oven-roasted tomato. For dessert, try an apple crisp made with caramelized apples, pecan oat crisp and vanilla bean ice cream. Eureka! also offers a creative cocktail menu and views overlooking the runways. Mr. C and Darioush Wine Dinner
Learn about Napa’s Darioush wine during a five-course wine dinner being held on Monday, Sept. 8 and Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Mr. C Beverly Hills. Diners will be served bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp and a spiced carrot emulsion paired with a 2012 Darioush Signature Viognier for the first course. Warm octopus with potato, cherry tomato and a green bean salad over creamy mozzarella will be served with a 2012 Darioush Duel Sauvignon Blanc/Viognier for the second course, followed by a walnut crusted beef filet served with sautéed spinach served with a glass of 2011 Darioush Signature Shiraz for the third course. Hakkasan Beverly Hills
Hakkasan Beverly Hills will close its doors through Sept. 14 for design enhancements to the restaurant, but reservations for dining are available for the re-opening on Sept. 15. Michelin-star international executive chef Ho Chee Boon has more than 24 years of experience in creating Cantonese cuisine with a contemporary twist.
