The Hollywood Arts Council (HAC) is hosting its 29th annual free “Children’s Festival of the Arts” on Sunday, Aug. 10 from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Paramount Pictures, 5555 Melrose Ave.

A costumed Bugs Bunny character and the Cotton Top Tamarin, the official mascot of the Los Angeles Zoo, will join nearly 40 child actors from film and television in mingling with guests at the festival. Casey McCabe, of AMP Radio 97.1 FM., will host the event.

The Children’s Festival is a celebration of the arts and culture in Hollywood.  Guests will enjoy music, dance and entertainment from around the world. Professional artists will lead workshops, offering children an opportunity to create their own art pieces. Face painting will be offered, and additional costumed characters will stroll the studio grounds.

“This wonderful, non-commercial event has become a family tradition,” HAC executive director Shauna McClure said. “People whose parents brought them to the festival in the past are now bringing their own kids.”
