On Friday, May 16, Emily Marie Villalpando, daughter of Park Labrea News & Beverly Press publishers Michael and Karen Villalpando, received a Bachelor’s of Journalism from the University of Missouri. Over 5,300 students graduated over the weekend, with more than 600 receiving Journalism degrees. The guest speaker was Angela Greiling Keane, a University of Missouri alumna and White House correspondent for Bloomberg News.

Emily Villalpando’s emphasis was in Strategic Communications, where she specialized in advertising, marketing, media planning and social media. She returned to her hometown of La Canada, CA where she intends to find employment in Los Angeles. Her future looks very bright. Congratulations Emily on a job well done – we’re very proud of you!
