Roasted Lamb Dinner
On March 26, Dominick’s is having a special lamb dinner crafted by Chef Brandon Boudet. Enjoy it with a glass of Dago wine for $9. The spit-roasted lamb is served with a salad of marinated tomato, mint, garlic, yogurt sauce and grilled flatbread. The menu also has a gem lettuce salad and roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes. Restaurant pioneer Paul Hibler is offering Saturday and Sunday brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at East Borough, a “Fraîche Vietnamese” restaurant in Culver City. Executive Chef Chloe Tran, and co-founder and General Manager John Cao will prepare egg banh mi with scrambled eggs, French baguette, cilantro, cucumbers, and chili; pan perdu, a Vietnamese French toast, with custard, French baguette, Saigon cinnamon, sweetened condensed milk, and kumquat marmalade; oxtail daikon hash with braised oxtail, daikon hash, chili, bok choy, two fried eggs, and Sriracha hoisin aioli; and pho with beef brisket, green onions, cilantro, bean sprouts, and Thai basil. Ray’s and Stark Bar Celebration
In honor of the 3rd anniversary on March 24, Ray’s and Stark Bar invites patrons to celebrate a Mexican-inspired fiesta from 5 to 10 p.m. Executive Chef Kris Morningstar offers delicious small plates from $2 to $10 and margaritas are $7 by the glass or $23 a pitcher. Flavors include ginger and herb infused from Ray’s garden. The festivity finishes with Morningstar’s whole roasted lamb carved tableside. Additional menu highlights include masa quesadillas with mushrooms and epazote and pumpkin seed sauce; and huarache of octopus and goat with pipián sauce, goat cheese, and citrus onions. Richard Sandoval’s Zengo in Santa Monica celebrates Daylight Saving Time with “Endless Zengo” dinners, featuring limitless cocktails and Asian-Latin-inspired dishes. On March 27, Executive Chef Chuck Abair at Café del Rey is preparing the traditional Spanish dish, paella with a Californian spin. His one-day-only lunch and dinner special is a quail paella for $39. On March 26 at 6 p.m., Executive Chef Taylor Boudreaux presents the first-ever beer dinner with Gabe Ryan from Stone Brewing Co. located in Escondido, CA. The dinner features a five-course for $40 a person. The one-night only menu includes prosciutto wrapped scallop, wild game cassoulet with braised lamb sausage paired with signature Stone brews such as Arrogant Bastard Ale, Smoked Porter, and Go To IPA.
