A Los Angeles Police detective assigned to permit enforcement duties has been charged with sexual battery involving three women who worked at separate massage parlors, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has announced.

The defendant, Oris Pace, 49, was arrested Jan. 2 on a felony complaint for an arrest warrant was filed on Dec. 30. Pace was later was released on bond. He is charged with five felony counts of assault by a public officer and six counts of sexual battery by restraint. The alleged offenses occurred between Jan. 1, 2011, and Jan. 9, 2012.

Prosecutors said Pace was a supervisor in LAPD’s Commission Investigation Division, which is responsible for enforcing business permits including massage parlors. While on duty, he allegedly forced three separate victims to undress, or he undressed them and fondled them.
